What does the PDA do?

The main activity of the PDA is to collect, edit and disseminate technical information to those involved with fertiliser advice, sales or use. The role of potashThis is done through publications, direct mail, telephone support and computerised systems of information transfer.

Some R&D is undertaken to secure new data and contact is maintained with European sources of research. Liaison with other organisations is also an important function involving contact with Government, R&D centres, universities and other bodies involved with agronomy as well as the fertiliser and farming industry. Promotion of best fertiliser practice is also undertaken via the farming press and at Shows and Technical events. Talks, seminars and conferences are organised to provide a training function in co-operation with other organisations where relevant.

The PDA is now widely recognised as an independent technical body providing a unique and worthwhile service to the UK farming industry.
